In the Sunday Times on 21st December, novelist Ali Smith, chooses Chania as her favourite holiday destination. She says it's a sophisticated place in the middle of a wild landscape and, to her, it's a constant reminder to open your eyes with the mountains visible from anywhere in the town and streets opening up to air and sea.
