Travelling to Crete from Belgium
Updated 9th July 2021.
Those travelling to Greece from Belgium can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from Belgium abroad is permitted and only discouraged for those planning to leave the EU or head to a red list country, which Greece is not.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Belgium DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
Belgian citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
On returning to Belgium - or travelling through the country - they must complete a Passenger Locator Form 48 hours BEFORE their arrival.

Travelling to Crete from Denmark

Those travelling to Greece from Denmark can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from Denmark abroad is permitted. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ offers non-binding guidance on travel rules and restrictions and instead invites nationals to make their own decision on whether or not to leave the country. They do however urge holidaymakers to remain alert and updated on changing guidance.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Denmark DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
Danish citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure data.
Fully vaccinated Danish nationals are not subject to any travel restrictions when leaving or entering Denmark (please note this does not mean your destination country cannot impose their own regulations). There is no requirement for testing before re-entering the country unless you have visited a red region within the previous 10 days, which Greece is not.

Travelling to Crete from France

Those travelling to Greece from France can visit the country without having to quarantine.
The French government have imposed no restrictions on travel to countries on their green list, including Greece.
They also permit those who have been vaccinated to travel to countries on their ‘orange’ list without having to justify their trip. If you are yet to receive a vaccine, you may only travel to an orange country if you have pressing grounds or if it is your place of origin or residence.
French citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive one of the approved vaccines, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure data:

Travelling to Crete from Germany

Those travelling to Greece from Germany can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from Germany abroad is permitted. Despite this, the Federal Foreign Office has cautioned against all but non-essential travel to most countries.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Germany DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
German citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
German citizens are required to complete a digital registration on re-entry to Germany, to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test result, depending on the risk status of the country they have holidayed in. Those have spent time in high-risk areas are expected to quarantine for 10 days. This ruling will remain in place until September 30th, 2021. Please note, Greece is not considered one of these locations at present.

Travelling to Crete from Finland

Those travelling to Greece from Finland can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from Finland abroad is permitted and only cautioned against for those wanting to visit Brazil, South Africa, India or Russia.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Finland DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
Finnish citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
Anyone arriving in Finland from Greece is not bound by travel restrictions.

Travel from Ireland abroad is permitted.

Irish citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.

Travelling to Crete from Israel

Those travelling to Greece from Israel can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from Israel is permitted abroad, unless your chosen destination has what’s considered to be a high COVID-19 risk.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Israel DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
Israeli citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
Those who stay out of Israel for 72 hours or longer must take a PCR test no more than 72 hours before their scheduled return journey. Even vaccinated travellers must present a negative test result. On arrival in Israel you must take a further PCR test at the airport. This is in addition to the pre-departure test. On check in you must present your negative pre-departure PCR test result to airline staff.

Travelling to Crete from the Netherlands

Those travelling to Greece from the Netherlands can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from the Netherlands is permitted abroad, providing your chosen destination is deemed ‘safe’ and been assigned a green or yellow status by officials.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Holland DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
Dutch citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
If you are arriving back in the Netherlands from a country/region in the EU/Schengen area where the risk of contracting COVID-19 is low, you do not need to show proof of vaccination, nor proof of recovery, nor a negative test result. No period of self-quarantine is required.

Travelling to Crete from the Norway

Those travelling to Greece from Norway can visit the country without having to quarantine.
Travel from Norway abroad is permitted but strongly discouraged unless you’re visiting one of Iceland, Malta, Poland or Romania.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from Norway DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
Norwegian citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
As of July 5th 2021, those re-entering Norway from Greece are not obliged to follow quarantine requirements. This ruling has been made in light of Greece’s low rates of COVID-19 and subsequent ‘green’ status. Only those re-entering Norway from a 'red' or 'purple' region are expected to quarantine.
Those arriving back in the country will still be expected to undergo testing upon arrival.

Travelling to Crete from the United States

Those travelling to Greece from the United States can visit the country without having to quarantine.
The Greek government have stipulated visitors from the US DO NOT have to be fully vaccinated before arrival, however those who have received a Coronavirus vaccine will be able to complete protocols far quicker.
The Department of State has advised all US citizens against travelling to Greece at this time.
American citizens planning to holiday in either Greece or its islands must first complete a Passenger Location Form (PLF) before entering the region. If they are yet to receive an approved vaccine, they must also take a COVID-19 PCR test and have received a negative result no more than 72 hours prior to their departure date.
The Greek authorities have encouraged anyone travelling to Crete from outside of the EU, including America, to fly direct if possible. At the time of writing however no direct flights are listed from American airports. Instead the following routes are available...
