Why Greece Is The Most Searched For Holiday Destination Since The Christmas Period

It would appear that for 2017, holiday makers are all in agreement about one thing.
Greece is fast becoming the go-to destination for affordable fun in the sun that ticks all the boxes - and this is backed up by the fact that the Travel Trade Gazette has recently confirmed: "Greece is the most searched for holiday destination for 2017".
As the largest of the Greek islands, Crete is famous for it's endless beaches which vary from picture perfect stretches of pure white sand (and even pink sand at the famous Elafonissi and Balos beaches) to popular family resorts and stunning secret coves of the deepest blue.
One of the best features of Crete is the incredible visibility of the sea which makes snorkelling a must. With plenty of fish, fascinating underwater ruins at some spots and even the occasional small octopus to bump into, swimmers will be astounded by what can be witnessed under the water.
Many visitors to Crete say that they have never seen such an incredible array of colours in the sea - from turquoise swirls to every enchanting shade of blue you can imagine. For holiday makers staying in Kokkino Chorio, there is even a secret cove (within walking distance of many of our villas there) which is a fanastic place to enjoy the beauty of the water without the company of hundreds of other holiday makers!
Due to its southerly position and long, hot summers - there are several growing seasons in Crete and as a result, local food is as tasty and abundant as you could wish for. In fact, Crete has frequently been given the accolade of being the "foodie capital" of Greece and is held in very high regard by notable critics including the Telegraph's Marc Dubin.
This means that dining out in Crete will always be a pleasurable experience, with an endless choice of eateries to explore - from typically greek tavernas with blue-checked table clothes and mouth watering home cooking, to majestic cliff top restaurants that promise a sunset you will never forget!
In many places, you will be astounded by the humble cost of a 2 course lunch or dinner with good local wine. Holidays makers who are used to paying upwards of 60 euros for such a meal in many Spanish or Italian destinations will be pleasantly surprised by the far more reasonable cost of food in Crete.
With cheap flights, incredible beaches and show-stopping food - it's clear to see why the discerning holiday maker is choosing Crete over many other destinations. And that's before we even consider the sun drenched and reliable climate, fantastic hiking opportunities and unrivalled beauty of the island.
With the exception of just one, all of our fully licensed villas in Crete feature a private pool and excellent proximity to local amenities and tavernas. Why not take a browse through our stunning properties and book now - while the property you love is still available. Now is also the best time to take advantage of great deals from Ryanair and Easy Jet before the summer hike in prices!
We are delighted to see so many of our past customers returning to book with us again this year and look forward to welcoming new holiday makers to this fabulous island for 2017!
